#ReadThisFIRST: When the world doesn't make sense...

Good morning.

As much as I want to be somewhat sarcastic, irreverent and my usual not-always-serious self, I have to take a moment this morning to say something about New Zealand. I won't re-hash the news. I won't get into the "weeds" as some would say about reasons and politics and stuff because right now isn't time for that.

What I believe we, as human beings, have, which binds us together... is this idea that we have a soul. Right now, my soul hurts for so many lives impacted by what seems senseless. But what I do know is that beyond the pain and grief... there is a peace which comes. It may not seem like it right now... but it always arrives. We interpret it differently from person to person, but that peace does come... eventually... when we seek it. When we listen to it.

It's a still, small voice. It heals. Brings calm. Hopefully... change.

Hopefully we are listening.

Now... on to the day. Claiming the promise that it will... get better...

Marvel dropped the latest preview for AVENGERS: END GAME and it broke the Internet. Why? AVENGERS. That's why. Oh, and, this one integrates the new Marvel superhero, Captain Marvel, at the end, in a way which, I think, will set up a "thing" between Captain Marvel and Thor... but that's me stirring the drama pot.

What else is trending this morning? Well...

Frank Cali: The reputed Gambino New York crime boss was assassinated in an old-school Mafia hit.

#iHeartAwards2019: The sixth annual awards ceremony aired on FOX.

Golden Tate: The Giants reportedly signed the free-agent receiver to a four-year, $37.5 million deal two days after trading Odell Beckham.

Rosario Dawson: The actress has confirmed she's dating Senator Cory Booker.

#SaveODAAT: Fans were not happy to learn that Netflix had canceled One Day at a Time after three seasons.

Project Runway: The fashion competition show kicked off its 17th season Thursday night on Bravo with new host Karlie Kloss.

OMG did you see this??? Full House may have foreshadowed star Lori Loughlin's involvement in that massive college admissions bribery scam.

So... did you know....

Today is WORLD SLEEP DAY and NATIONAL TRUE CONFESSIONS day... so take a nap, and make sure to confess those sins to your higher power!

ST. PATRICKS DAY IS THIS WEEKEND YOU GUYS...

Here’s to a Guinness and Irish whiskey weekend! And maybe a Shamrock Shake and some corned beef and cabbage. St. Patrick's Day is the fourth most popular drinking holiday. New Year’s Eve is 1st, Christmas is 2nd, and July 4th is 3rd.

  • 60 percent of Americans plan to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year, which happens to be the fourth most popular drinking day in America, behind only New Year's Eve, Christmas and the Fourth of July.
  • $5.9 billion will be spent -- and 13 million pints of Guinness will be served.
  • Cabbage shipments increase 70 percent in the week leading up to the big day, with over 30 percent of Americans celebrating by preparing a traditional Irish meal. (Insider)

Happy Uncuffing Season! It's still cold in a lot of the country, but spring is officially springing next week, and that means … it's breakup season! A few years back, Facebook analyzed user statuses that contained the words "breakup" and "broken up," and they found a huge spike in the time between Valentine's Day and spring break. The holidays and cold winter months are known as “cuffing season” – aka when people tend to be in relationships -- but with spring and warmer weather on the horizon, relationship experts say breakups are on the rise because people feel more inclined to interact and engage with the outside world -- including new people. Sunshine makes people happier and more adventurous, and just like cleaning out your house, people are more inclined to clean out their personal lives as well. (Cosmo)

Regular bedtimes for adults… Most kids have a regular bedtime, and according to a new study, adults should have one too. Duke University researchers found that having a regular bedtime and wake-up time is important for the health of adults. They found that people with irregular sleep patterns weighed more, had higher blood sugar, higher blood pressure, and a higher risk of having a heart attack or stroke within 10 years than people who went to bed and woke up at the same every day. (Duke University School of Medicine)

How much would you pay to be good in bed? According to a new study, the average American would pay $8,192.17 to be instantly skilled in the sack. Here are the other skills respondents said they would pay to have – without having to put in any effort:

  • Be good in bed -- $8,192.17
  • Be less anxious -- $6,768.57
  • Public speaking -- $6,220.22
  • Be patient -- $6,126.01
  • Be athletic -- $5,922.25
  • Play an instrument -- $5,695.92
  • Speak a foreign language -- $5,694.20
  • Drive a car -- $5,671.02
  • Be a good listener -- $5,633.18
  • Eat healthy -- $5,581.84
  • Stick to a workout routine -- $5,437.28
  • Schoolwork -- $5,336.71
  • Cooking -- $5,226.68 (SWNS)

STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ST. PATRICK’S DAY

Sunday is St. Patrick's Day -- which means we have a “party” holiday on the weekend. Here’s a rundown of some stuff you need to know about the big day:

  • 60 percent of Americans plan to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year, which happens to be the fourth most popular drinking day in America, behind only New Year's Eve, Christmas and the Fourth of July.
  • $5.9 billion will be spent -- and 13 million pints of Guinness will be served.
  • Cabbage shipments increase 70 percent in the week leading up to the big day, with over 30 percent of Americans celebrating by preparing a traditional Irish meal. (Insider)

BUGATTI MADE A $34,000 TOY CAR THAT GOES 28 MPH

Here’s another reason to feel jealous of rich kids …

The exotic car company Bugatti is now making a $34,000 toy car with a top speed of 28 miles per hour.

The “Baby Bugatti II” is a modern version of the half-scale Type 35 race car replica the company's founder, Ettore Bugatti, built for his youngest son nearly a century ago.

The toy features two different modes. In “child mode,” the electric engine tops out at 12.4 miles per hour. But if daddy wants to go for a ride, flip the switch to “adult mode” and speed down the street at 28 mph. (Maxim)

COLLEGES WITH THE MOST STUDENTS WITH SUGAR DADDIES

This week, big-time colleges have been in the news because the FBI cracked down on fraud involving rich parents giving thousands of dollars in bribes to get their kids admitted to the schools.

These stories have been fun because they show how the “real world” works. Rich people have certain advantages…

But, all the news has been about getting the kids into these schools.

What about paying for stuff once they’re on campus?

School is expensive. Life is expensive. Which is why some young women make arrangements with sugar daddies to make ends meet.

According to some number-crunchers at SeekingArrangement.com, here’s a rundown of the colleges with the most students who have used the website to connect with sugar daddies:

  1. Georgia State University
  2. University of Central Florida
  3. University of Alabama
  4. Florida State University
  5. University of Florida
  6. Rutgers University
  7. California State University, Fullerton
  8. University of Nevada, Las Vegas
  9. University of North Texas
  10. University of Missouri

Not sure what it means, but the top five are all in the Southeast -- and three out of the top five are in Florida. (WKMG-TV)
