Angelina Jolie Reportedly Felt Brad Pitt 'Pressured' Her To Get Married

64th Annual Venice Film Festival : The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford - Premiere - Day 5

Angelina Jolie is done with marriage after her split with Brad Pitt, a source revealed to Us Weekly. Not only will the Maleficent: Mistress of Evil actress "never get married again" she reportedly didn't want to tie the knot with Brad, either. The source alleges Angelina "felt that Brad pressured her" to make their 10 year relationship official.

The couple said "I do" in an intimate ceremony at French villa back in 2014, though they called it quits only two years later. Following their breakup, Brad and Angelina were involved in a bitter custody battle. Ultimately, though, the former couple came to agreement in November 2018. Now that the dust has settled, it seems both Brad and Angelina are more open to discussing their split publicly.

While the source revealed to Us Weekly that Angelina is "enjoying being on her own" right now, her ex is "grateful that all the animosity is in the past," another source revealed. "The kids come first. That's what he's most excited about...being a dad and sharing his life with his children."

During a recent interview, Pitt admitted he was drawn to his new film Ad Astra because it helped him explore what went wrong with his own relationship. “I would be exploring it whether there was a script that allowed that or not,” he said. “A breakup of a family is certainly an eye-opener that as one — and I’m speaking in general again — but as one needs to understand, I had to understand my own culpability in that, and what can I do better. Because I don’t want to go on like this.”

Pitt also told the New York Times about how he channelled the turmoil of his personal life for the character. He reportedly committed to the role in Ad Astra only a few months after Jolie filed for divorce. "I had family stuff going on. We'll leave it at that," the actor said. "The fact is, we all carry pain, grief and loss. We spend most of our time hiding it, but it's there, it's in you. So you open up those boxes."
