Lady Gaga Performs 'The Cure' Live From DC During AMAs

Lady Gaga performed “The Cure” for the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday, live via satellite from Washington, D.C.

As Gossip Cop reported, Lady Gaga performed “Million Reasons” at the 2016 American Music Awards. The song, which appears on her best-selling album Joanne, was originally released as a promotional single, but was later sent to radio as the record’s official second single. This year, the singer opted to not to perform another track from that album, but her latest hit “The Cure,” which was unveiled as a standalone single timed to her Coachella performance back in April.

The multiplatinum singer-songwriter, a nine-time AMA nominee, is currently in the midst of her “Joanne World Tour.” So far, the concert series has stopped in various cities across the United States and Canada, and is set to hit Europe in 2018. As previously reported, Lady Gaga canceled her concert scheduled at the Bell Centre in Montreal a few months ago, tweeting that she was “unable to perform” because she was unwell. The pop star, who suffers from fibromyalgia, went on to cancel her headlining performance at the 2017 Rock In Rio festival in September. Thankfully, she’s doing better now and is back on stage. Her live performance of “The Cure” was broadcast from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., one of her North American pit stops.

The superstar, one of the best-selling musicians of all time, is nominated tonight for Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist, an award she previously scored in 2010. This time around, Lady Gaga is competing against Rihanna and Alessia Cara for one of the night’s top prizes. Since 2009, the singer has been nominated for numerous awards at the AMAs, including New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Album for The Fame and Born This Way.
